39 hours per week, Full-time

Monday – Friday, Dayshift / Nightshift

Washington Metalworks is a successful Manufacturing company based in Gateshead. We offer complete sheet metal fabrication services, delivered with quality craftsmanship. Our sheet metal fabrication solutions keep businesses moving.

We are looking for candidates with sheet metal experience to work on our press brake machines, helping to make products across a variety of industries.

The ideal candidate will have experience on press brake machines and enjoy the opportunity to be cross-skilled on different machines or departments. They will be motivated to produce high quality component parts consistently. Working to targets, this role this role will suit an enthusiastic and proactive individual.

An immediate start and full-training is available. Applications are welcome from candidates with experience in the metal fabrication industry who would like a change in role.

In addition to the salary, monthly bonus of £110 and Nightshift with allowance of one third of standard rate are available on completion of training and probationary period. Washington Metalworks reviews rates of pay and employee benefits March of each year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Correctly operate machines to manufacture component parts for production.
  • Maintain consistent high-quality from start to finish.
  • Inspect completed parts to determine if requirements have been met.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines.
  • Supervise machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure best results.
  • Complete daily safety checks.
