About the role:

  • You will be using MIG and TIG welding
  • Using different materials such as mild steel, aluminium and stainless to create products for a wide range of customers
  • You will read drawings and fabricate from this.
  • We are a fast-paced environment and will expect for you to be able to work independently on a wide range of different jobs.

The candidate: 

  • We would like for you to have experience as a Plater, Welder, Sheet Metal Workers or Fabricator
  • WMW are a supportive company, and we will endeavour to support employees who are not yet qualified but who show willing.
  • You will be required to read drawings and interpret them to create the products for our customers.

We are a successful Manufacturing company based in Gateshead, with an ambitious strategic growth plan through investment and development. We require an ambitious Estimator to join our team.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Commercial Team with a good manufacturing background to estimate job costing for sheet metal products to many different industry sectors. You will be responsible for the estimating within the business. Candidates will report to the senior management team and will continuously develop their skills and knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • 3+ years of estimating experience
  • IT competent
  • Wiling to work additional hours to meet business demands
  • Strong customer relations
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadline
  • Experience of working with ‘Bill of Materials’

 Desirable

  • Manufacturing or engineering experience
  • ERP experience
  • CAD experience – Solidworks preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Fabrication

 Location and Working Arrangements:

  • The position is based in our offices in Felling, Gateshead.
  • The salary offered will be appropriate to your qualifications and experience.
  • The company offers 25 days annual leave for this position.
  • The working hours are 38 hours per week. Note, the nature of the role in supporting the business can mean extended hours may be required from time to time.
  • An annual bonus scheme is also paid, based upon your performance, including hours invested in supporting the business.

Due to business growth Washington Metalworks are seeking an experienced business administrator to work with both Commercial and Production disciplines, Job duties will include but not limited to:

  • Providing office support including customer and employee support
  • Inputting of Sales Orders
  • Raising of Work Orders
  • Printing and Distributing of Work Orders
  • Progressing of WIP through Manufacturing
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders regarding WIP
  • Preparing paperwork ready for Despatch
  • Amending where required any BOM’s or Routers

Experience:

  • Must have experience working within an Engineering/Manufacturing business
  • Must have experience in using an ERP system.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, especially Excel
  • Detail-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Exceptional communication skills

Function - Manufacturing Directorate

Reports to: Process Manager

38 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Salary – Up to £10.00 per hour

We are a successful Manufacturing company based in Gateshead, with an ambitious strategic growth plan through investment and development. We are continuing to expand the business in equipment, facilities and products and therefore require skilled Material Handler & Forklift Driver to work with us as our business grows.

Summary of the main purpose of the role:

The post holder will support manufacturing employees to achieve production within specified timeframes by transporting material in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Transport materials to production workstations
  • Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies

General Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labelling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Summary of the main purpose of the role:

Operating production machinery, specifically folding and bending machines.

  • Operate the machine to produce parts in accordance with specifications, drawings and working instructions.
  • Guarantee their own work is to the highest standard.
  • Show good attention to detail.

Job Title: Accounts Manager

Reports to: Commercial Manager

Summary of the Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for the management of sales and relationships with Washington Metalwork’s customers. The Account Manager will lead on projects for a key portfolio of customers, acting as first point of contact for any communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate sales for a given portfolio of accounts to reach the company’s sales targets.
  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities with existing and future clients.
  • Plan and manage the full relationship between the company and its customers. Tasks include but are not limited to, project management, strategic planning, negotiation and logistics.
  • Negotiation of contracts and fees with customers and directors.
  • Manage and solve conflicts with clients. Keep the client updated with accurate data, insights and regular reporting.
  • Co-ordinate with other departments when working on the same account.
  • Maintain an accurate record of sales and purchase goods.
  • Maintain an accurate record on information management systems including GSS.
  • Establish budgets and deadlines for the client and company.
  • Work to meet deadlines for accounts.

General Responsibilities

  • Participate in marketing events, supporting the Commercial Manager to generate external engagement with new clients.
  • Maintain a detailed awareness of relevant competitors, trends and developments in the Sheetmetal industry, that may affect accounts at WMW.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships.
  • Support the work, performance and professional development of team members within accounts management.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in any reasonable tasks.
